Developed for industrial, warehousing, field service, retail and transportation markets, the G4000 Server Appliance and Browser Gateway software allow networks using mobile computers and other hardware to move seamlessly to wireless device integration. The solution allows a variety of different radio systems, from 900 MHz to 2.4 GHz open air, or 802.11b, to connect to the same host. In addition, it allows legacy communications protocols to communicate with TCP/IP-based wireless networks. The 2U-sized server includes the Windows 2000 operating system with the server appliance kit installed. The platform supports software-and system-configuration updates via a local console or through a remote browser.--Intermec Technologies
