Deep-inspection firewall

Communications News, May, 2004

Booth 527

The Deep Inspection Firewall provides advanced security for key vulnerability points throughout a network, including telecommuter, branch-office and central-site locations. Designed to complement proven stateful firewall functionality, the firewall has intrinsic, application-level intrusion-prevention capabilities. Security features and intrusion-prevention functionality provide protection against more than 250 application-level attacks and protocol deviations targeting key Internet services, such as Web, e-mail and file-transfer resources. This functionality is enabled through deep inspection into specific traffic for the following protocols: HTTP, SMTP, IMAP, POP, FTP and DNS, with additional protocol support planned in future releases. Version 4.0 of the software runs on all of NetScreen's Secure Access appliances (SA-1000, SA-3000 and SA-5000).--Juniper Networks
