Taming the technical Medusa - Feedback - Letter to the Editor

Communications News,  June, 2002  by Paul Langhorst

To Lenny Liebmann:

Thank you for writing the "Tactical Outsourcing" article ("The Bottom Line," December 2001). It was very rewarding to read your supportive comments about tactical outsourcing and the benefits companies can derive. So many companies these days try to do everything internally and, in the process, wind up with an IT shop that becomes both a technical and HR Medusa, consuming more resources than necessary to get the job done. Tactical outsourcing is an ideal solution to prevent this from happening.

Regarding the delivery of automated phone messages, if you are not already aware of this, the delivery conditions can be set to deliver messages to live, machine or both types of answers to help ensure message receipt by the proper party.
