Conferencing portal

Communications News,  June, 2004

WebOffice Version 5.0 enables instant, ad-hoc video cells for group, as well as desktop video users. The Web-based collaboration solution is a full-featured conferencing portal designed to provide users with a single interface and environment for all of their conferencing needs. Each user has an "office" that provides an individual, unchanging URL for Web-based meetings. Upon entering the WebOffice, a user is presented with WebOffice Manager, which displays a buddy list (with presence detection of a participant's availability, supported devices and current conferencing status) and provides simple buttons for either secure instant messaging, or launching a voice, video or Web conference-or any combination of these elements. All the controls users need to manage their data, audio and video conference are integrated into the WebOffice window, including the video display.--Polycom
