Communications News, June, 2004
To meet the growing requirements of scientific computer clusters and commercial high-performance computer centers, the high-performance Miracel CoolTherm cooling rack is available in power increments from 10,000 watts to 20,000 watts. The water-cooled server rack features on air-to-water heat exchanger that uses water from the cold-water system of the building as the coolant. An air conduction system additionally delivers cool air directly to the front intake ducts of each individual server to provide even temperature distribution. Warmed air is extracted via a rear output air duct and returned to the heat exchanger. The air transfer is guaranteed by no redundant fans. A temperature-dependant speed regulation of the fan motors controls the flow speed of the air in the heat exchanger.--Knurr
