WLAN analyzer - VoIP, optical and wireless testing - Berkeley Varitronics Systems Scorpion - Brief Article

Communications News,  July, 2002  by Phil Hollows

The Scorpion is a wireless receiver system designed for sweeping, analyzing and optimizing 2.4-GHz WLANs. The instrument measures coverage of direct-sequence CDMA networks operating on the IEEE 802.11b standard. Users can determine the access point used, SSID and packet error rate, as well as RSSI signal levels to help locate hubs and access points of neighboring WLANs. The unit features a 256-color backlit display for real-time, color-coded signal analysis, touch screen, and both USB and serial interfaces. --Berkeley Varitronics Systems
