Application acceleration - New Products

Communications News, July, 2003

The BoostEdge BE2OOA accelerator is an entry-level network data traffic optimization appliance designed to accelerate the delivery of enterprise applications and Web content over wide-area networks. It is intended for a single application with up to 250 users, providing smaller enterprises a bandwidth optimization solution for use at headquarters, or for larger companies, a bi-directional solution for distributed deployment at remote offices. The unit is capable of supporting multiple application types, including HTTP, HTTPS, FTP, Internet e-mail (POP3, SMTP, IMAP), Microsoft Exchange, legacy client/server, and other services. It can handle up to 3 Mbps of throughput and up to 5,000 established connections. The VCR-sized unit supports 400 new connections per second or 100 SSL connections per second, and is capable of handling approximately 100 HTTP users simultaneously.--BoostWorks
