Compact media conversion - Bicsi 2002 - Transition Networks Dual Fast Ethernet Converter - Brief Article - Product Announcement

Communications News, August, 2002

Booth 411

The Dual Fast Ethernet Converter is a slide-in modular card containing two fiber interfaces in the front of the unit, and has copper routed to two RJ-21 connectors on the rear of the chassis. Up to 12 cards can populate the 18 slots of the PointSystem media conversion chassis, allowing users to convert 30 Fast Ethernet connections in a 2U space when the remaining six slots hold single conversion cards. Hydra cables can be used to convert the RJ-21 ports to standard RJ-45 plugs. The entire PointSystem is fully managed, providing remote monitoring and configuration of the cards via software or a Web interface.--Transition Networks
