High-density KVM - New Products

Communications News, August, 2003

Targeted at the midlevel and enterprise markets, the LCD Console KVM Switch incorporates a 15" LCD display with an integrated 16-port KVM switch into one appliance. The solution is packaged in a 1U high, rack-mountable drawer, saving on electricity, air conditioning, cables and space costs. It enables network managers to slide out the console drawer, flip up the LCD screen and start working. No additional software is required to control up to 512 computers from a single console when daisy chained with additional KVM switches. A CAT 5 remote-console port offers the option to control servers from up to 500 feet away. For added security, the switch features two-level password security for up to four authorized users, as well as administrator view and control capabilities, with separate profiles for each.--Altusen
