Communications News, Sept, 2001
ENABLE REMOTE EMPLOYEES TO CONNECT to the corporate phone system. OfficeLink 2000 Version 2.5 allows for up to 96 simultaneous connections via a single Windows NT server, and provides digital phone features in an easy-to-use, Windows-based, configurable user interface, or softphone. Remote users can connect over any IP network via dial-up, ISDN, xDSL, cable-modems or LAN/WAN connections. The system includes a PBX mobility feature, enabling users to become an extension off an existing corporate PBX from virtually anywhere using only a telephone. Another enhancement is Agent Access, a set of features that cater to disabled workers. An oversize client softphone, combined with touch-screen compatibility, allows employees with limited motor skills or impaired vision to work from the comfort of their own homes. Additional improvements include ongoing call control during a PC crash or network failure, digital support for NEC NEAX PBX platforms, robust front-end security, client call logging and softphone skins.--Teltone
