TCP-port monitoring - Network and SCSI monitoring

Communications News, Sept, 2002

Perform fault management at the application layer with EventWatch 2.1, a self-configuring cause-analysis and fault-management application. Using a correlation engine and database, the system correlates to the root cause of network failures on Layer 2 and Layer 3 devices-usually, in two minutes-filtering out transient, duplicate and false alarms, and then alerts the appropriate personnel of the exact problem. Alerts can be performed with pop-up windows, e-mail, paging, log files or trouble tickets. Newly added is the ability to monitor and report outages of application-specific TCP ports. Reports track availability on individual devices, interfaces and TCP ports, as well as groups of devices.--Tavve Software
