Access security - New products - Top Layer Networks Secure Controller family - Brief Article

Communications News, Sept, 2003

Designed for core and edge authentication in wired and wireless networks, the Secure Controller family of high-performance ASIC-based access control security switches forces users to authenticate themselves prior to gaining any network access and provides administrators with highly granular access control to ensure that networks stay secure. The solution consists of a Secure Edge Controller installed at or near the edge of the network to ensure that unauthorized traffic from wireless and wired access networks is intercepted before it has a chance to enter the network core, and a Secure Core Controller installed at points within the network where large numbers of users access the network through the unit.
