Remote office router - Routers and switches - NEC America BlueFire IX2200 - Brief Article

Communications News, Sept, 2003

The BlueFire IX2200 router helps enterprises deliver secure converged voice and data networking from the main office to branch facilities requiring connectivity back to the central site. The device supports IP security for packet-by-packet encryption and authentication, implemented in hardware rather than software to enhance performance. For converged voice and data environments, QoS capabilities allow the prioritization of delay-sensitive voice traffic, while supporting a single network instead of two separate ones. Two fixed 10/100 Ethernet ports facilitate LAN connections and three expansion slots support additional Ethernet connections or variable WAN ports. Wide area T-1 traffic can be channelized or formatted as either Frame Relay or IP. A T-1 drop-and-insert option facilitates the integration of voice and data traffic.--NEC America
