No Y2K-based flying bans enforced by Britain

AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION-(C)1997-2000 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD

After previously announcing that it would ban any airline not considered to be Y2K-ready from flying into or out of the country, Britain has confirmed that it has not banned any carriers.

The UK Transport Minister said that the decision had been reached after Gulf Air confirmed its Y2K-compliance and Southern Aviation of Zambia indicated it would not be operating services over the critical period.
