AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION-(C)1997-1999 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD
The US Federal Aviation Administration has issued special conditions that are applicable to the Boeing Model 767-400ER aircraft.
The special conditions have been released because the aircraft will utilise new avionics/electronics systems that provide critical data to flight crew and this new equipment is not covered adequately or appropriately by the safety standards of existing airworthiness directives.
The special conditions provide the additional safety standards required for the protection of the new systems from the effects of high-intensity radiated fields and are effective 3 January 2000.
