New aircraft leasing company established in United Arab Emirates

AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION-(C) 1997-9 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD
Qatari-based businessman Sheikh Hamad Ali al-Thani has established a new firm that will offer aircraft leasing services and maintenance facilities to airlines globally. The Air Gulf Falcon group is based in the United Arab Emirates and has already arranged to purchase 13 Boeing 747 aircraft from international airlines such as British Airways and Japan Airlines, in deals valued at USD100m. Another 11 aircraft will be added to the fleet by the end of 2000 according to Reuters.
