-Delta aircraft makes emergency landing
Airline Industry Information, Oct 25, 1999
An aircraft flown by Delta Air Lines from Rhode Island to Atlanta was forced to make an emergency landing at Logan International Airport after one of its tyres blew during takeoff. Pieces of the exploded tyre apparently flew into the aircraft's number two engine causing it to 'flame out' which then resulted in several mini explosions and smoke filling the passenger cabin. No one was injured in the incident, but several passengers were treated in hospital for anxiety attacks and all passengers were placed on other aircraft to continue their journey from Boston to Atlanta.
