Varig and MedAire to offer inflight phone link to medical personnel

AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION-(C)1997-2000 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD
Brazilian airline Varig will be forming a partnership with MedAire Inc. to enable crew members to assist passengers with medical complaints during flights.
MedLink, operated by MedAire Inc., is an emergency centre currently serving 27 commercial airlines which allows flight crew to have immediate access to expert medical advice from board certified emergency physicians via the telephone.
Varig also wants MedAire Inc. to make appropriate resources available as they are needed to supplement its disaster management plans.
