Allegiant Air, a privately-owned US carrier, filed for Chapter 11 US bankruptcy protection on 13 December.
The carrier has attributed its situation to increasing fuel costs and has given leave of absence for an unspecified period to 112 full- and part-time workers and kept a staff of 51 employees based in Fresno, California.
Allegiant Air has stated that its scheduled services between Fresno and Las Vegas, as well as its charter services, will continue without interruption despite the filing according to Reuters.
