A physician who was a hostage in the hijacking of an Indian Airlines aircraft on 24 December 1999 has positively identified the hijackers as the men in photographs released by the Indian government.

Anita Joshi says the hijackers would remove their balaclavas at night and also stated that the men had told her about how they had planned the hijacking for the last two years by watching Hollywood movies and reading books on hijacking.

Joshi, who is a physician in Bombay and treated the two men stabbed during the hostage ordeal, also said that the men were well trained and seemed to `understand human psychology very well`, they were also apparently pleased to see foreigners onboard the aircraft as this would force other governments to put pressure on the Indian government.
