Braathens, a Norwegian airline, was set to check all of its 737-500 aircraft today (11 January) after two aircraft of the same type made emergency landings last night.

Both aircraft saw the warning lights for the landing gear light up, but both aircraft landed without problems. One of the aircraft, on its way from Oslo's Gardermoen airport to Molde in Norway, decided to return to Gardermoen while the other aircraft, had taken off from Oslo, Norway and landed at Arlanda, Sweden.

According to Dagbladet, a Norwegian newspaper, there were also a third aircraft that had problems with the warning light, but it was reportedly not in the air at the time.

Braathens reportedly has 21 aircraft of the type and the carrier was set to check them due to the problems. This meant that flights were cancelled while the check-ups were carried out.
