British crash experts are to assist the Libyan and Swiss authorities with the investigation in to last week's crash of a Short Brothers 360-300 turpo-prop which killed 23 people.

The aircraft reportedly experienced engine problems on its approach to the airport, located on the Libyan coast, and later reports said that both engines had failed. Few aircraft systems simultaneously affect both engines and speculation is now focused on a possible problem with the fuel, such as lack of fuel or a contaminated supply.
