AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION-(C)1997-2000 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD
Brazil's largest airline Varig is to spin off its non-transport business operations and create two new companies, Varig Participacoes em Transportes Aereos (VPTA) and Varig Participacoes em Servicos Complementares (VPSC).
The restructuring scheme aims to streamline the company by separating its hotel, communications and food service operations from the core air transport business.
