AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION-(C)1997-2000 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD

The consolidation of Air Nova, Air Ontario and AirBC, which are owned by Air Canada, is to commence immediately according to a statement from the carrier on 20 January.

The consolidated airlines will be headed by the current president and CEO of Air Nova and will be headquartered in Toronto.

Canadian Regional Airlines, which belongs to Canadian Airlines Corp and which is supposed to be sold by Air Canada, will be merged into the group if Air Canada cannot find a buyer.
