The Air Line Pilots Association, International (ALPA), which represents about 1,000 pilots at Air Canada`s regional airlines, has stated its support for the company`s consolidation plans for the carriers.
ALPA leaders have apparently already commenced the creation of merger and negotiating committees that will begin integrating seniority lists and working on a new labour contract, with the process to be based on the successful integration of Air Alliance and Air Nova in February 1999.
The regional carriers involved include Air Nova, AirBC and Air Ontario.
