Airline Industry Information, June 20, 2000
AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION-(C)1997-2000 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD
Frontier Airlines, a US carrier based in Denver, has chosen John Wayne Airport in Orange County as a second hub for operating from Southern California to Denver.
Other airports considered by the carrier included Long Beach, California, Ontario International Airport and Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena Airport. These other airports were rejected in favour of John Wayne due to low traffic conditions and other associated factors according to the airline.
Frontier is now on the waiting list to operate from John Wayne Airport and has indicated that it is willing to wait for a slot there even if it takes several years.
