Airline Dispatcher Federation urges implementation of Single Level of Safety programme - Brief Article

The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has been encouraged by the Airline Dispatchers Federation (ADF) to require all US-based charter and supplemental airlines using ten or more seats to comply with the principles of the Single Level of Safety programme.

The programme, as defined in FAR Part 121, should also be applicable to US-based cargo airlines flying aircraft with a maximum gross weight of more than 20,000 pounds according to the ADF.

The Single Level of Safety programme was developed in the mid-1990s for larger commercial aircraft following a spate of aircraft incidents that heightened safety concerns with US-based airlines and has been viewed as highly successful amongst large carriers.
