An Alaska Airlines MD-80 en route from San Diego, California to Portland, Oregon made an unscheduled landing at Los Angeles International Airport on 5 June due to pressurisation problems.

Problems with cabin pressure apparently occurred as the aircraft climbed from San Diego and resulted in the pilot descending to 10,000 feet and shutting off the air conditioning system according to Reuters.

The aircraft had 135 passengers onboard who were transferred to another flight after landing in Los Angeles. No one was injured, but there are unconfirmed reports that one passenger required oxygen after starting to hyperventilate due to anxiety.
