Iberia joins Internet goods and service grouping - business-to-business consortium - Brief Article

AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION-(C)1997-2000 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD

Iberia, a Spanish carrier, has stated that it will be joining a grouping of six other airlines working to establish an Internet group for the acquisition of airline-related goods and services.

Other airlines involved in the business-to-business consortium include Air France, American Airlines, British Airways, Delta Air Lines and United Airlines, who together spend some USD35bn per annum on goods and services.

Offerings likely to be available include spare parts, fuel, catering and maintenance, but not aircraft according to Reuters.
