Pakistan CAA orders closure of passenger handling companies

AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION-(C)1997-2000 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD

The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) in Pakistan has issued 14 passenger handling companies at the country's international airports with notices to close down their operations by 6 April 2000.

A spokesperson for the CAA told AsiaPulse that 'The notices, to close down the business, were issued on the directives of federal government, which had taken this decision after receiving a number of complaints against 'Meet and Assist' companies.'
