Delta Connection reaches preliminary agreement over new aircraft for regional carriers

AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION-(C)1997-2000 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD
Delta Connection Inc. has reached a preliminary agreement to buy 94 Canadian-made aircraft valued at USD2bn for its regional carriers Comair and Atlantic Southeast Airlines.
Bombardier Aerospace in Toronto is to build the Canadair Regional Jet aircraft with deliveries beginning in 2001 and continuing through until 2004.
A final agreement between Delta Connection and Bombardier Aerospace is expected this summer.
