Smaller French carriers merge to compete with Air France - Brief Article

French carriers Air Liberte, Air Littoral and AOM are set to merge to become a single airline in the autumn in an effort to become a domestic challenger to Air France.
French newspaper Le Figaro reported that the new group will operate under a new name and will be owned by a holding in which SAirGroup will hold 49% and Taitbout Antibes BV (the new owner of Air Liberte) will hold 59%, according to Reuters.
The group is expected to have a fleet of 110 aircraft, fly nearly 10m passengers and have annual sales of FRF10bn.
