Braathens warns that budget proposal will lead to increases in air fares

The Norwegian airline Braathens has estimated that if the Norwegian government's budget proposal is accepted it will lead to a 30% increase in even the cheapest air fares.

The government hopes to make some NOK1.49bn in higher passenger taxes and according to Braathens this would result in a 29% increase on, for instance, the low-fare ticket between Bodo and Tromso, which currently costs NOK517.
