Clerical and catering staff with Aer Lingus, an Irish carrier, have agreed to further talks with the carrier.

The agreement to continue labour negotiations means that one-day strikes threatened for Thursday and Friday (2 and 3 November) will be avoided. Despite the current reprieve, the SIPTU, which represents the workers, has threatened industrial action for 10 November if talks do not progress to its satisfaction.

In related news, the SIPTU and IMPACT trade unions representing Aer Lingus' cabin crew are currently engaged in talks with the carrier through the Labour Relations Commission according to PA News. The workers are demanding higher pay.
