Frontier Airlines has launched a series of gift certificates that can be used by recipients to purchase flights to any of the carrier's 23 destinations. The certificates are available from http://www.frontierairlines.com in increments of USD50, USD100, USD200 or USD500, and are transferable.
China's Hainan Airlines Group, China's no. 1 and no. 2 aerospace industry groups (AVIC I and AVIC II), and Fairchild Dornier Aerospace, a US-German joint venture, have agreed to develop and produce new 32-seat jet aircraft. AsiaPulse reported that a letter of intent about the project was recently signed in Haikou.
Engine manufacturer Pratt & Whitney Canada Corp (PWC) has delivered its 50,000th engine to a customer. On 16 November the company delivered a PT6A-67D engine to Raytheon Aircraft for installation on its Beech 1900D aircraft, and marked the milestone with a special ceremony attended by executives from Raytheon Aircraft and PWC.
Northwest Airlines has formed a new partnership with Good Bears of the World, meaning that each child travelling with the Northwest Airlines KidCares medical programme will receive a free teddy bear. The KidCares scheme was launched in 1999 to provide air travel for children aged 18 or under who are unable to receive medical treatment in their home area and also provides travel for one parent or guardian.
CIT Aerospace has received its first V2500-powered aircraft, an A321-100 that has been leased to Asiana Airlines of Korea. The aircraft is expected to enter into service on 19 November and is Asiana's fifth V2500-powered A321.
Cathay Pacific Airways, a Hong Kong-based carrier, has launched a series of new children's in-flight fun packs that feature cartoons from The Walt Disney Company. There will be eight different packs to choose from, split between two age ranges, over the next six months. The packs contain Disney games, toys, activity books, stationery, pens and crayons.
Continental Airlines has formed a new marketing partnership with Ashford.com, an Internet-based retailer of luxury and premium products. The deal will allow the carrier's OnePass frequent flyer members to earn ten OnePass miles for every dollar spent at the exclusive Ashford/OnePass web site located at http://Continental.Ashford.com.
