Increase in traffic reported for US airlines in October

AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION-(C)1997-2000 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD

The US Air Transport Association has reported a system-wide increase in revenue passenger miles (RPM) of 2% month-on-month in October 2000.

Domestic passenger traffic increased by 1.3% and international traffic by 3.9% according to a company statement. RPM refers to one paying passenger transported one mile.

Load factors were also up, with the domestic load factor at 69% and the international load factor at 74.8%. Load factor is the percentage of total seats that are filled with paying passengers.
