The latest report from the Air Transport Association (ATA) Office of Economics has shown that airfares increased by an average of 6.5% in October 2000.
Coach fares rose by 5.4% and first class fares by 10.6% compared to October 1999.
David A. Swierenga, the ATA Chief Economist, has stated that although airfares increased in October, 'they did so at a rate much lower than the industry's rising fuel and labour costs.'
The report also includes yearly and monthly average coach-class and first-class tickets prices and other related information.
