AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION-(C)1997-2000 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD

Vanguard Airlines launched a new, twice daily non-stop service between New York`s LaGuardia Airport and Kansas City on 1 October. Prices for the service start at USD109 each way. Furthermore, the carrier will begin a service between New York and Los Angeles when it starts flights between Kansas City and Los Angeles International Airport on 12 October. Tickets for this coast-to-coast service will be priced from USD129 each way.

Delta Air Lines began a new nonstop daily service between Atlanta, USA and Leon, Mexico on 1 October. The flight is operated by the US carrier in association with its SkyTeam alliance partner Aeromexico using a Boeing 737-800 aircraft.

Commencing 30 October America West Airlines will operate a daily nonstop round-trip service between Phoenix and Toronto. The carrier is now offering introductory fares from USD149 each way, with fares to be purchased by 13 October for travel from 30 October 2000 through 31 Jan 2001. Tickets must be bought 14 days in advance and require a Saturday-night stay. Other charges apply and travel from other markets to Toronto is also available at the special price.
