American Airlines flight diverts due to engine problem

An American Airlines aircraft made an unscheduled landing at Los Angeles International Airport on Monday (16 April) after reporting engine trouble.

The MD-80 was en route from Long Beach Airport to Dallas with 138 people on board when the pilot reported an 'oil quantity problem' in one of its engines, according to Reuters.

The aircraft landed safely and no injuries were reported.
