The heads of rival aircraft manufacturers, Boeing Co and Airbus SAS, met on Tuesday (18 December) to discuss ways to improve aircraft security following the 11 September terrorist attacks in the USA.
Alan Mulally of Boeing Co stated that the commercial aircraft-manufacturing chiefs had also discussed ways to help speed the industry towards recovery and how to reduce the environmental damage and noise caused by aircraft.
Mulally also rejected criticism from Noel Forgeard that Boeing Co receives subsidies from the US government and indicated that the talks had been very productive, The Associated Press reported.
