AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION-(C)1997-2001 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD

Airbus SAS, a European aircraft manufacturer, stated on Monday (3 December) that it will be freezing prices on spare parts and all customer-service related work for six months.

The company said it wished to help airlines reduce expenses following the 11 September terrorist attacks in the USA and the subsequent industry slowdown. A spokesperson for Airbus stated, "Our customers are in a difficult situation and to the extent we can, we will help. We will be continuing to examine areas in which more help can be provided," reported The Associated Press.

Airbus has not indicated how much the price freeze will cost the company.
