Air Lib, a French carrier, said on Tuesday (4 December) that it is suing Swiss carrier Crossair for money owed by Swissair.

Crossair, a former subsidiary of collapsed Swissair, has apparently dismissed the FRF3bn claim as baseless, but the case could be important to determine whether Crossair could be held responsible for lawsuits launched against Swissair, Reuters reported.

The agreement over which Air Lib is suing involved Swissair paying the French carrier FRF1.5bn in return for Air Lib's union not suing Swissair for alleged poor management after it sold Air Lib to Holco, a French group. Crossair indicated in a statement that it had no knowledge of the agreement.
