A consumer confidence poll carried out by online travel company Expedia.co.uk has shown that two in three people are still comfortable travelling by aircraft, despite recent aviation disasters.
The poll also revealed that more than 50% of those surveyed would rather fly to America with a European airline, with those aged 18-24 stating this preference most strongly.
Of the 1,004 adults questioned in mid-November, 64% indicated that they were still happy to travel by aircraft, with 70% of respondents aged 45-64 years saying the 12 November American Airlines crash in New York, USA would not alter their travel plans.
