A British Airways ground staff member has accused Liam Gallagher, a singer with British rock group Oasis, of indecently assaulting her as he boarded a flight at London-Gatwick Airport.
The singer allegedly made a rude gesture and grabbed the woman's bottom quite hard. The event was apparently witnessed by other passengers in the area. Sussex Police are viewing CCTV cameras near the boarding gate as part of their investigation into the incident according to Sky News.
A statement issued by British Airways following the incident stated: 'On Friday evening January 12 a male passenger was allegedly abusive to a female member of staff prior to boarding flight 2247 from Gatwick to Rio De Janeiro.'
The 30-year old woman apparently told a friend that Gallagher had seemed drunk and smelled of whisky as he and his group boarded the aircraft, according to The Sun newspaper. Passengers who witnessed the incident have said that Gallagher walked away grinning afterwards.
Gallagher already has a life ban on Cathay Pacific Airways after he disrupted a flight from Hong Kong to Australia in 1998.
