A Mexicana de Aviacion Fokker-100 aircraft en route from Guadalajara Airport to Mexico City was forced to make an emergency landing shortly after takeoff from Guadalajara on 3 January after one of the tyres on its front landing carriage burst.

The aircraft landed safely on a special foam-covered runway and none of the 95 people on board were injured.

The incident delayed about 46 flights while the airport was closed, according to The Associated Press.
