Sydney Airport reports record passenger figures for 2000

AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION-(C)1997-2001 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD
Sydney Airport, Australia released figures today (4 January) showing that passenger numbers at the airport hit a record 9.93m international passengers using the International Terminal during 2000.
The results represent a 7.5% increase on 1999's figure of 9.23m.
December was shown to be the busiest month in 2000, with 970,000 international passengers using the airport - a 21% increase on 1999, and even greater than the numbers recorded for the Olympic Games period according to Sydney Airports Corporation Ltd.
