A Ukrainian man accused of attacking crew members during an Air Namibia flight from Frankfurt, Germany to Windhoek, Namibia last week was due to appear in court on Monday (10 September).

Anatoly Sokolov is accused of gaining access to the Boeing 747-400 cockpit during the flight and punching one of the pilots in the head when he was ordered to get out. Sokolov was allegedly drunk at the time of the incident and also reportedly pushed a flight attendant roughly as he exited the cockpit. He will be charged with three counts of assault and one count of contravening the Aviation Act by interfering with aircraft crew members or making himself guilty of disorderly conduct according to The Namibian newspaper.
