Taiwanese airline EVA Airways is planning to raise salaries to levels before a post-11 September pay cut, and rehire some laid-off employees.

The airline will reportedly re-employ around 100 flight attendants who were laid off after the terrorist attacks. From April, EVA will raise salaries to levels before the pay cuts, which were reduced by between 10-30%.

EVA has cited an increase in its passenger load factor in the first two months of 2002 as the main reason for the staff additions, as well as an increase in the airline's weekly flights to Tokyo and an expected increase in flights to other destinations in May or June of this year, reported Reuters.
