Delta enhances check-in process

Airline Industry Information, April 4, 2002

AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION-(C)1997-2002 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD

Delta Air Lines is planning to improve its check-in process by enhancing the functionality of its self-service check-in kiosks.

The enhancements will allow e-ticketed customers to use kiosks to check-in, check baggage, print boarding cards, select or change seats, request to standby for upgrades, change flights and initiate multi-party check-in. Previously, only selected SkyMiles customers could use kiosks to check-in and obtain boarding cards for originating and connecting flights.

The airline is also planning to install an additional 300 kiosks throughout its domestic operation by the end of 2002.
