Airline Industry Information, April 5, 2002

AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION-(C)1997-2002 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD

American Airlines and Finnair have applied to the US Transportation Department for antitrust immunity.

Antitrust immunity would allow the two airlines to cooperate in setting schedules and prices. The airlines, both members of the Oneworld alliance, would be able to further increase their ties if the application is approved, reported The Associated Press.

The two carriers do not operate any overlapping services.
